When you order a ‘custom’ suit in Europe or North America, an order is placed to a factory filled with semi-finished, off the rack suits. The factory then mixes and matches pre-made suit pieces into your very own, again, ‘custom’ suit. At Indochino, your suit is completely custom (note the absence of air quotes). The process can take up to 8 hours, involving a master tailor, one or two skilled seamstresses, and a piece of fabric the size of a large kitchen table. Let us explain . . .

A Shanghai Master Tailor (minimum 14 years of experience) chalks out the suit exactly to you, using a pair of well worn fabric scissors to cut out your suit.
A couple well-trained seamstresses assemble your suit; their skillfully calloused hands running the major seams through industrial grade white sewing machines.
The final touches are done by hand. Buttons, shoulder seams, and belt loops are all applied with a needle, thread, and two fluid, well trained hands.
